Analogue Image Lab: Motion Picture Film Lab London

Analogue Image Lab is a motion picture lab and UHD scanning facility based in Wood Green, North London, UK. A few years in development, our new motion picture lab is based just seven miles from central London and within very easy reach of all London transport links.

Film is back. There’s never been a better time to enjoy the colour depth, texture and emotive qualities of real film for your creative purposes.

The Analogue Image film lab is built on the foundations of On8mil , specialists in 8mm and 16mm film processing and UHD scanning since 2014. In 2020 Analogue Image Ltd T/A On8mil made the decision to build an ECN2 and black & white lab to support the growing business within On8mil and to bring a much needed new lab offering to filmmakers looking to shoot film.

    2K, 3K and 4K scanning facilities using the Film Fabriek Mueller HDS+ and Black Magic Cintel scanner

  • Comprehensive film restoration suite using Pixel Farm PF Clean and Phoenix software packages.

  • Cleaning of newly shot and archive films using the new CineTech UK cleaner.

    Cleaning of 35mm, 16mm and 8mm films.

  • Colour grading suite using Black Magic Da Vinci Resolve

  • We carry a wide array of Calder and Photomec consumables. POA.

While digital media provides numerous conveniences and flexibility, shooting on analogue film remains a conscious creative choice for many filmmakers, photographers, and artists.

Somewhat surprisingly, we’re seeing up and coming producers, directors and filmmakers turning to film, having grown-up and trained in a predominantly digital entertainment eco-system. This ‘new generation’ of filmmakers see analogue film as a creative choice. Paradoxically it is the extremely high resolutions now achievable with digital imaging sensors that allows us to experience analogue film in depth and detail never see before. (Read more).
